Coach Wes to Parents

Please make sure you check your folder on a regular basis. This is where we deliver ribbons, award and bills. We use the WRA email system to notify you of upcoming events.  If a swim family is not receiving team notices via email please let us know by emailing webmaster@wraswim.com. We will get you connected quickly.


Practice

4:30/4:45 Swimmers

  • 4 practices per week minimum preferably 5-6 times per week

  • Must be able to swim the set requirements for group

  • Ready to begin practice promptly at designated time

  • Must participate in swim meets

  • After 2 weeks absence from practices swimmer becomes suspended from meet participation and needs to meet with coach before resuming practice schedule

6:30 Swimmers

  • To be active in a competitive status a swimmer must attend 2 practices per week

  • All swimmers that need to have an extended absence period 3 weeks or longer must communicate with the coach

Welcome New Swimmers

Congratulations and welcome to our graduates from Learn To Swim, welcome to the swim team! Be sure to always check your folders for information. Review the First Meet Information Sheet before your first meet. And, ask veteran swimmers and parents questions. They were new once too.

Everyone needs to be registered USA swimmers and with that you should be receiving the Splash magazine, make sure you are reading and learning about others in the sport of swimming. BE INSPIRED!!


 

 

 

Get to Know the WRA Coaches

Our coaches are highly trained, dedicated professionals, who feel that while winning is an important part of competitive swimming, it is not the sole purpose of competitive swimming.

  • ASCA certified stroke technician

  • Attended American Swimming Coaches Association World Clinic in San Diego

  • 9 GA top 20 times in 2007 

  • Lifeguard certified since 2002

  • Ten swimmers with state qualifying times in 2007 

  • Stroke coach for Perry High school 2006

  • Great motivator

  • Committed to promoting and growing a TEAM all inclusive of all swimmers at all ages

  • Has taught over 500 children to swim since 2001 emphasizing pool safety

  • Has been with the Aquanauts since 2002

 She is a great motivator and perfect at running our pre-competitive and Learn To  Swim programs.

  • Currently doing ASCA level 1 course work
  • Swam competitively growing up in club swimming
  • Began coaching and teaching swim lessons at age 15
  • Resumed coaching in 2002 Aquanauts assistant coach
  • Has taught swimming for 27 years
  • Has been with the Aquanauts since 2002
